Program Description:
Enrollment in this class for January 2019 is limited to students enrolled in the Fall 2018 Sustainability FYS and FIG.

This course will cover sustainability issues focused through a systems thinking philosophy lens. The class will be based from the UGA San Luis campus in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Region of Costa Rica, where students will be immersed in a campus and region epitomizing sustainable practices. Numerous activities and tours will enable first hand experiences as well as direct interactions with the community who have embraced sustainable philosophies. Travel to other regions for experiential learning on sustainable practices will also be incorporated.

The approximate cost per student is:

Most in-country expenses (hotels, transportation, activities and food) ~ $1500
Flights ~$1000
+ tuition for 3 credits
+ study abroad fee of $140
+ international travel insurance of $25
